MEET YOUR TEACHER
¡Hola! My name is Elisa, I am a native Spanish speaker.

I have been teaching Spanish for over 10 years, academically and professionally.

I take pride in my work, helping students obtain the best results they can.

In my free time, I enjoy going out on walks in the countryside and spending time with my cat Jerry.

EXPERIENCE
Qualified in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).
In Spain, I worked at the school Antonio Machado preparing students for their exams. Tutoring one to one allows for students to work in a setting specific to their needs, and to ask any questions they may not feel free to do so at school.

I specialise in teaching GCSE and A level Spanish, with up to date material relevant to a range of exam boards. We will work on exam-style technique as well as practicality. If you have any question specific to your learning journey contact me.
HOW WE TEACH
I will speak to you mostly in Spanish
Understanding and speaking are key elements to dominating Spanish. It propels students to improve their understanding of many basics quickly, and build on these.
They are also heavily emphasised in GCSE, A-level and Degree Studies, preparing students for the vocabulary and verbal skills expected of them. Exam boards have placed greater importance on the ability to react and think quickly in speaking scenarios therefore this method ensures students feel confident and have long term practice.
Tasks set weekly and Homework help
All lessons will be aided with material, fitted to your learning goals and level. You will have academic support throughout your learning journey, with homework to boost your learning outside lessons as well.

Additional material will be provided in areas where support is identified to be needed. Relevant to GCSE, and A-Level the material provided will include past papers questions and model answers.

Lesson recordings are also available.

Exam practice
Studying by topic, and specific to each students´ needs; it will strengthen their exam technique. The current curriculum expects students to answer exam questions in particular ways to attain marks and so for students to achieve higher marks it is not only about their knowledge but how they apply it.
Students will be able to submit work for marking and receive detailed feedback on how to improve.

We will also carry out mock speaking exams to narrow down preparation and help students with queues they can use if they struggle, or that can be applied very generically and be tailored to the scenario they encounter.
Though this may seem to apply to GCSE, A-Level and Degree Studies it is also a resource that can be relevant to Adult Learners. Many of the values studied are relevant to the Spanish culture and will shape your understanding of expressions, literacy and vocabulary.

Interactive learning
Young learners will have their lessons tailored to their attention span, age and ability. The use of songs, and books, as well as personalised worksheets, will be guaranteed to spark their interest. Though repetition is key, we will always introduce new topics and activities.

Often with long term learning, they reach the stage of GCSE, and A-level and have many advantages. They can concentrate further on exam technique and cultural values, having strong vocabulary and understanding.
